Sembra confermato in effetti.. Stallone pare aver riferito allo stesso Statham, alla prima di Transporter 3, che Lundgren ha firmato per 'The Expandables'.

Superstar Sylvester Stallone, who is serving as writer, director and actor in The Expendables, attended the Transporter 3 premiere -- he flew in specifically to meet the British star. Stallone told me, “You’re the first to know we also signed Dolph Lundgren today. We make up a really interesting group of mercenaries.

“I’ve been a great admirer of Jason, and he’s perfect for my movie with Jet Li. I wrote Jason’s part with him specifically in mind, but now that we’ve met, I can rework it a little and add to it before we start filming. I like the depth of storytelling that goes with the action. I like to get the emotion in, as well as the punches. I’m thrilled he’s always wanted to work with me. It will be a great film.”

Sly and Jason let me listen in as they talked about the script and the opening sequence where Jason will disguise himself as a gay criminal in order to kill off a Mexican drug cartel. “That’ll be a first,” Jason said. “Never done that before. Do I have to hold hands with another man?” Sly told me filming would start one month later than he’d planned because of all the other stars’ film commitments. The film will be shot entirely in Brazil for release in early fall.

Stallone chiama Dolph Lundgren

Sylvester Stallone ha appena annunciato di aver offerto un ruolo al collega Dolph Lundgren nel suo prossimo The Expendables. Il biondo attore affiancherà Jason Statham, Jet Li e lo stesso Stallone che, oltre a dirigere, sarà anche uno dei protagonisti del film.

Pare che la mitica coppia pugilistica che si è scontrata negli anni '80 sul ring di Rocky IV tornerà a riunirsi sul set. Sylvester Stallone ha, infatti, annunciato di aver contattato il suo rivale Dolph Lundgren per recitare nel suo prossimo progetto, The Expendables.
Sylvester Stallone interpreterà, scriverà e dirigerà l'action movie che vede nel cast le star del cinema più adrenalinico Jason Statham e Jet Li. Il film, che verrà girato in Costa Rica e Louisiana, seguirà le vicende di un gruppo di mercenari impegnati in una missione per rovesciare un dittatore sud americano.

Lo stesso Dolph Lundgren però, non se ne sta con le mani in mano. Passato anche lui dietro la macchina da presa, ha da poco diretto e interpretato l'action movie Command Performance che vedremo presto in sala. Il film vedrà protagonista un batterista tatuato che salva il premier russo da un rapimento.

Dolph Lundgren Might Join Sly Stallone's Expendables
The day we announced that Sylvester Stallone was making The Expendables, a veritable "homecoming of tough guys" as Stallone himself now calls it, we thought it couldn't get any better than that - Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Stallone all starring together in an action extravaganza. Besides mentioning at one point that Forest Whitaker might also join the cast, Stallone also just told Review Nation that they're getting close to securing Dolph Lundgren for the film as well. You've got to be kidding me?! If only Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean Claude Van Damme were to join, we'd have the greatest action movie cast assembled in cinematic history! Now we've just got to figure out what The Expendables is about…

Unlike Van Damme, though, Lundgren still is starring in crappy action movies like Universal Soldier III. He also starred alongside of Stallone in Rocky IV previously. I don't really know if he's still a good actor, but that doesn't matter, because really, The Expendables isn't going to be about how well any of these guys can act. We just want to see them blow shit up and kill guys for 90+ minutes, right? Like it or not, that's going to be the case. And having Lundgren on board isn't going to hurt it anyway, I mean, he's one of the iconic tough guys alongside of Stallone, Statham, Schwarzenegger, and Van Damme! So far all we know is that The Expendables is about a team of mercenaries sent on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator.

Per quanto ci sia allo stesso tempo il rischio tamarrata.. tuttavia le redini del progetto sono nelle mani di Stallone e questo è senz'altro un aspetto positivo.

Sylvester Stallone ha deciso di tornare al cinema in un action movie intitolato "The Expendables" che racconta le vicende di un gruppo di mercenari impegnati in una missione per rovesciare un dittatore sud americano.

Per interpretare il suo antagonista Stallone ha richiamato Dolph Lundgren che fu Ivan Drago in Rocky IV.

Sylvester Stallone interpreterà, scriverà e dirigerà il film. Nel cast anche star del cinema adrenalinico quali Jason Statham e Jet Li.

Le riprese inizieranno a gennaio 2009 in Costa Rica e Louisiana.

Il rischio è quello di ritrovarsi con un giocattolone senza pensieri e particolari aspettative , se vogliamo essere buoni .

Sembra che nella scena di apertura Statham sarà travestito da criminale gay per sbaragliare un cartello messicano della droga.

Data di uscita prevista per inizio autunno 2009 secondo quanto riportato nell'articolo che ho postato.

La voce su un coinvolgimento di Whithaker nel cast spero si concretizzi: un attore premio oscar e di livello farebbe molto comodo.
